IMPORTANT NOTE: Our fees listed on this page do not include out-of-pocket disbursements and taxes; however, we do not charge you for our internal disbursements such as photocopies, faxes and postage. Depending on your individual circumstances our legal fees can be lower or higher.

On a home purchase or refinancing, typical disbursements are: title and off-title searches, execution searches, government registration fees for Transfer/Deed and Mortgage(s), courier charges, charges for bank drafts/certified cheques, and title insurance premiums. The Ontario Land Transfer Tax is also charged on home purchases, and if the property is located in the City of Toronto, it is subject to the Municipal Land Transfer Tax in addition to the Ontario Land Transfer Tax.

On a home sale, typical disbursements are: government registration fees for Discharge of Mortgage, courier charges, and the Law Society of Upper Canada levy on real estate transactions.
